"This was the first meeting held at Carnaby Two, not to be confused with the original Carnaby which had closed down many years earlier. The track was near the location of the original track, and was a semi-road circuit on service roads to some sort of training facility, straw bales against lamp posts etc.
I raced my LC at this event but it was a hot day and the track had a couple of really long flat-out straights between roundabouts (I kid you not). There was a cool bit where you went along a straight then turned a 90 degree right hander onto a wide footpath that went in-front of a row of shops, then right again to rejoin the return road on the other side.
I seized the bike laying on the gas too long in-between the roundabouts as I chased Robin Haslam (no relation) 's 350LC on my 250LC during my first race, so the day ended prematurely. Great little track though.
The reason I went to the event was nostalgia, my dad had raced sidecars at the original Carnaby back in 1978 and as a kid that was a trip to the seaside event.
